History
When everStor, formerly called HIARC, became incorporated in 1992, its products had already benefited from six years of technological development through a $5 million research program at Purdue University. But the evolution of everStor's automated storage management software tools began even earlier than that: It started as far back as 35 years ago, when members of the company's management team first began their careers in the data storage business. Their decades of experience helped the fledgling HIARC accumulate a significant base of customers who had been looking for cost-efficient solutions to quickly and easily manage their high volumes of information.
HIARC Hierarchical Storage Management, one of the first and best data management tools, evolved from the team's partnership with Purdue University. After the founders (and still the current managers) purchased HIARC Inc. in 1994, other products followed, including jb driver, a user-friendly handler for tape and optical media in jukeboxes and library devices, and Replicator, the ultimate data replicating and archiving tool. These products now form the foundation of the company's success.
In 2001, the management team changed the company's name to everStor to better reflect their mission of becoming the leader in automation tools for network data storage management. With dozens of diverse, high-profile business using their data management tools, everStor is well on its way.
Mission and Design Philosophy
everStor is committed to providing the most effective and affordable self-managing network data storage tools available. Our goal is to provide your company with solutions that will reduce labor, save money and make your data management easy, no matter what your size, budget or needs. By creating user-friendly tools that integrate into existing hardware and software, and operate in heterogeneous environments, everStor has established itself as a primer supplier of leading-edge, high-availability storage management technology.
everStor products are designed with the future in mind. They embody modular architectures and have well defined APIs, which allow flexibility for inclusion in customized applications. They comply with defacto industry "open" standards and are configured for maximum scalability for network, system and storage growth. We believe that removable media storage should be written such that data can be read or retrieved by systems not running our software. Data is an organization's more valuable asset, and, accordingly, we make it easily recoverable from storage.
